Mechanic- Wantirna South

KTS Recycling is Melbourne premier resource recovery and waste transfer station operator. KTS operates 4 transfer stations in Melbourne’s Southeast and focus on the recovery of recyclable materials to reduce waste from landfill. Our Knox site operates 7 days a week, closing only Good Friday and Christmas Day.

KTS Recycling is seeking a qualified mechanic to join our team to maintain & repair our plant & equipment at our site in Wantirna South.

Details of the positions

• Mechanic to work from our transfer station in Wantirna South (Knox Transfer Station)
• $50 per hour
• Monday – Friday 7.00am to 3.30pm + overtime when required.
• Ensure maintenance, servicing and repair requirements are met to ensure a safe and road- worthy fleet.
• Completing service records and reporting on stock consumed.
• Servicing/repairs will be conducted on various trucks and trailers, stationary and mobile shredders, wheel loaders, and material handlers (excavators).

Qualifications/Experience Required

• Trade Qualified in Certificate III or IV in Automotive / Mechanical – Heavy Vehicle Road Transport
• Solid experience within a workshop environment working on various trucks
• Previous experience in the field
• Current driver’s license
• Heavy Vehicle drivers’ license would be favourable (HC)

Yard Person/Labourer – Wantirna South

Our Wantirna South, Coldstream and Skye sites operate seven days a week, closing only Good Friday and Christmas Day. Wesburn is open Friday – Monday only

Details of the positions

• Labourer’s needed for Knox Transfer Station.
• Physical recovery and recycling of waste material.
• Interaction with residential and commercial customers.
• Assist with general cleaning of the site.
• Rates are paid in accordance with the Waste Management Award.
• Casual positions.
• Weekend work may be required for some sites.

Mobile Plant Operators – Wantirna South

• Mobile Plant Operator/picker needed for Knox Transfer Station.
• Required to operate a wheel loader/material handler.
• Casual Position.
• All days/hours available.
• Rates are paid in accordance with the Waste Management Award
• Overtime and penalty rates apply when/if required to work weekends and public holidays

• Excavator/Front Loader ticket required.
• Material handler experience preferred but not essential.
