KTS Recycling welcomes its first electric truck

KTS Recycling has taken an exciting step forward in our sustainability journey with the arrival of our first ever electric truck. The new Volvo FM Electric prime mover joined our Knox site this week and will soon be moving waste in and out of our facilities every day.

This truck is a major milestone for our fleet. The Volvo FM Electric produces zero tailpipe emissions and operates with significantly lower noise levels compared to a diesel vehicle. This makes it a cleaner and quieter option for transport work across our transfer stations.

To mark the occasion, we designed a custom paint job that highlights the electric nature of the vehicle. Our team wanted the truck to stand out and reflect our commitment to more sustainable transport solutions.

Why electric transport matters in recycling

Every load that moves through our sites is part of a larger circular process. Introducing electric vehicles into our fleet supports the bigger picture of reducing emissions, improving air quality and keeping resources in circulation in the most responsible way possible. It is a natural fit for our values.

The Volvo FM Electric is designed for heavy duty work and is fully capable of meeting our daily operational needs. It will be transporting a wide range of materials between our sites and other facilities across Victoria.

A step toward the future

While this is our first electric heavy vehicle, it won’t be our last. We are continuing to explore cleaner transport options that support our emissions reduction goals and strengthen the sustainability of our operations.

We would like to thank CMV Group for their support with this project and for delivering the vehicle to our team. Keep an eye out for this beauty on the road.
